Joyce Lin is an interesting artist and designer based in Houston, Texas. We found her on a wandering walk through the world wide of web. In her artist statement she explaines that she has become both disturbed and fixated with the opaqueness of industrialized society, where modes of production and disposal are obscured to the public and the impacts of supposedly disposable materials like plastic, foam, and resins last far beyond time scales that we as humans can fathom. She works with a wide range of mediums including wood, metal, plastics and upholstery. With those mediums she creates surrealistic objects that explore questions about material and form and the ever-shifting relationship between humans and their environment.
