Artist Seungwon Jung

Londonbased artist Seungwon Jung (1992, Seoul) is interested in how our perception situates time in relation to space. She prints photographic images onto fabric which she then de-threads, unpicks, re-threads and reconfigures into an image that is transformed by this deconstruction and reapplication. Jung connects this with the gaps in our consciousness and in our memories. By removing threads from the fabric, she references the neurological process of forgetting and memory loss, and the imperfect nature of what is left behind.
Interesting work that you want to give as much time looking at it as it has been on making!
