Ai Wei Wei’s public expo

The Chinese artist/activist Ai Wei Wei has held a public exhibition in New York where he tackles the migration crisis by using the symbolism of a fence. Wei Wei himself has formed an empathy for the uprooted man, because he himself has also experienced this – growing up in the Cultural Revolution in China. He has visited refugee camps for this project and has tried to get a lot of attention for this subject. By placing art in the public domain, he wants to bring everyone, and in particular the daily life in New York, into contact with the works.
